About the opportunity
This year are looking to provide summer internships to approximately 6 students commencing at the beginning of December 2023.
This is a paid internship that will run through to mid February 2024 and will include a two week break over Christmas and New Year period.
Depending on your studies, interns will be working with the Actuarial or Chief Risk Office teams.Some activities that you could gain exposure in include:
Actuarial
- Build new types of data/experience analysis to improve the understanding of performance drivers
- Upgrade existing tools used to analyse experience to improve their efficiency and output
- Using data available within MRA to identify special policy and/or claim features (e.g. impacted by legislative changes, claims history, COVID19)
- Support with all work to move to new treaty management system and changes to processes required to address internal audit findings re premium rate table management
- Undertaking analysis/ modelling to support repricing related activities. This will include analysis for client repricing, assessing new business quotes, assisting with product work
- Helping to develop the NZ Terms of trade
Risk/ Legal
- Ensure that executed contracts are up loaded to the Contracts Register
- Support on Information Security for the risk and compliance team through migration to Shared Drive Migration to 'one source of truth' for all risk and compliance documents
- Update our Risk SharePoint page; and
- Risk portal for the business
- Support the team in enhancing the Risk Culture across MHA Australia
- Improvement/ uplift in our Shared Services registers
Your profile
- We are keen to speak with current students (preferably domestic) who have completed at least 2 years of studies
- You will have a curious mind, enjoy collaborating with others and keen to develop your skills and build your experience
- You will be located in Australia and able to attend our Sydney office. Whilst we offer flexible working we would encourage you to attend in person to get the maximum benefit of this experience
