A long-term temporary opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor/Officer to join a large and busy Federal Government Agency.

About the role:

  • Providing support to managers and colleagues through the employee lifecycle, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees.
  • Providing technical OHS/WHS advice to support business functions and managers.
  • Taking a leading role in implementing the OHS/WHS Management System for the organisation.
  • Developing and implementing policy, procedures and developing associated learning and training materials.
  • Managing and providing advice on incident responses and coordinating incident investigations.
  • Undertaking and reviewing hazard and risk assessments and management of the risk register.
  • Preparing briefs, reports, meeting papers and other relevant OHS/WHS documentation.

About you:

  • You will have previous experience in providing OHS/WHS advice and assistance.
  • You will have previous experience working with OHS/WHS legislation, policy and procedures.
  • You will have excellent communication skills written and verbal, and the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
  • You will ideally hold a relevant qualification in OHS/WHS.
  • You will have experience working in a corporate or government organisation.
