We are recruiting a full-time, permanent Support Worker to work in our Stronger Ground Central team.


As a Support Worker, you will provide psychosocial support to individuals living with mental illness across the Perth metropolitan area. The role involves traveling to meet clients in different locations.


Hours of work are 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday, between 8am-5pm, with possible weekend and holiday shifts by arrangement.


As a Support Worker, you will use a trauma-informed approach to collaborate with Support Coordinators and offer capacity building support based on the client's recovery objectives. The primary focus is on assisting clients in reconnecting with the community, enhancing their mental well-being, and overall quality of life.


The ideal candidates will have experience in working with clients in a family-inclusive manner, operating in a team setting, and communicating with mental health professionals, housing providers, and other relevant services to support the client's recovery journey.


Who are we looking for?

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following:


  • Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III) and/or related work experience and/or personal experience.
  • Ability to engage with individuals with varying needs and establish professional relationships.
  • Capability to work independently and contribute to team dynamics.
  • Exhibit positive behaviors, emotional maturity, coping skills, and resilience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting systems.
  • Willingness to align with the organization's vision, mission, values, and principles.
  • Knowledge of diversity, gender, and social inclusion, especially Aboriginal culture.

Required Compliance Documents:
  • Current driver's license.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Certificate.
