The primary role of the Warehouse Assistant includes the receiving and processing of incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders for stock, packing, and shipping orders and managing, organising and retrieving stock in the warehouse.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform receiving, unloading, counting, and stocking physical inventory in the warehouse
  • Load, unload, open boxes, crates and other containers
  • Inspect items to ensure they're not damaged or faulty and adjust inventory accordingly
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, inventory space and work stations neat; (can include sweeping and vacuuming)
  • Arrange the warehouse and workspace to maintain tidiness consistently
  • Ensure items are stored in the correct location/shelf, stacked properly, and clearly marked and labelled.
  • Perform stock take periodically on all products in the warehouse
  • Guarantee that all stock movements are documented to maintain precision, facilitate stock rotation, and adhere to the firstin, firstout principle.
  • Disposing of packing material, carton boxes, and expired products appropriately
  • Proficiency in operating a pallet jack and ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete daily inventory record in the system for delivered, outgoings/issuance
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies as and when required in a timely manner
  • Undertake daily activities such as receiving goods, taking counts, storing, and issuing stock, and dispatching orders to customers
  • Coordinate activities with other departments
  • Identify areas of improvement and adjust existing work procedures and practices
  • Perform other related work as required

REQUIREMENT AND SKILLS

MUST HAVE:

A current forklift licence:

  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Proven experience as a warehouse worker
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office
  • Excel, Work, Outlook, Teams)
  • Good organisation and time management
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including pallet jack, etc
  • Ability to lift and carry weights frequently of more than 20kg
  • Completed VCE or Year 12 equivalent
  • Ability to read and prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, logs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- strong organisational and time management skills

  • Knowledge in GMP, TGA and other regulations is preferred
