Concrete Garden Ornament Manufacturing

Pots n Pots is looking for a concrete manufacturing assistant to keep up with the demand for our in house made concrete garden ornaments that are made onsite at our store in Coburg.

We are ideally looking for someone who wants a longer term position. We want to invest in training you to be a vital part of our business. Our ideal hours are Monday to Thursday
Hours may be increased in the future depending on employee availability/willingness and product demand.

You do not need to be the strongest person to start, but you need to be capable of building up your strength.

We will teach you how to lift smart, not hard.

We will train you how to use the aid of trolleys, pallet jacks, the crane and other team members to do this safely.

Tasks will include:

• Loading cement mixer.
• Assisting with pouring concrete into the moulds using a vibrating table.
• Demoulding items.
• Oiling the moulds and reassembling them into their cases (don't worry we start you off with the easier ones).
• Sorting products into their required colours and customer orders.
• Using an air compressor to spray a stain onto the items and washing back the excess
• Assisting with putting items you have helped make on display in the retail store.
• Cleaning and organising the work area.

Other duties will include on occasion.

• Helping Pots n Pots staff load items into customers' cars.
• Helping to unload a few containers a year.
• Giving the retail side of the business a hand to move/lift a heavy item if everyone else is busy.

To be successful in this role, the successful applicant would ideally possess the following skills:

• Physically fit and healthy, with no mobility restrictions.
• A keen eye for detail and a bit of skill with piecing things back together (think a big 3D puzzle)
• Ability to work closely with others.
• Some experience with tools like a drill, angle grinder, cement mixer or pallet jack are preferred but not at all essential.
• Some experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Patience and willingness to learn new skills.
