Tutoring Program Convener

The Program Convenor role is a position within a school tutoring program. It is an opportunity to show leadership skills while having a tutoring role.

The Program Convenor manages their own group and takes on extra responsibility within the program and keep other tutors accountable.

There are four key areas of responsibility involved in the Program Convenor Role, these are the organisation of sessions, tutors, the school contacts and communication with the School Programs Coordinator.

Duties of a Tutor:

• Provide academic and leadership support to both students and other tutors on our school programs.
• Provide feedback to our School Operations Manager and effectively implement new strategies on the programs.
• Liaise with school staff to understand the needs of the students involved in the programs.
• Explain concepts and coursework relating to what the student is completing in their studies.
• Teach and explain concepts to an audience of university students and schoolaged children, of all different learning capabilities.
• Provide study advice, study tips and examples of how students can complete their work with ease.

Requirements:

• Experience in a leadership position.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide others.
• Excellent problemsolving skills.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Completed high school.
• You have your own motor vehicle with a current, valid driver's license.

Salary:
$37.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
