Senior Director, Engineering Program Management

About the Team:
ResMed's Engineering teams are focused on building world-class diagnostic and therapy products, and patient and provider software applications. Delivery of amazing products requires exceptional coordination across complex engineering programs and cross functional teams. That's where our PMO team fits in. Your team will provide right-sized support to our product teams; they will drive some of the most complex, cross-product initiatives, including managing dependencies and projects with a broad scope across the company.
About the Role:As the Head/Snr Director of Engineering PMO at ResMed, based in either Sydney or San Diego, you will establish and lead this critical capability for our product delivery across our hardware and software engineering teams. The Engineering Program Management Office improves program delivery of ResMed's products through best in class, continuously evolving practices, data, and technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Bring enterprise-wide leadership and impact to transform and lead programs aligned with the Product strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of project managers and technical program managers supporting the delivery of ResMed's engineering products and services.
- Show innovative thinking, collaborative problem-solving skills, and a passion for working in a cross-functional environment.
- Define and implement the PMO vision, strategy, objectives, and roadmap aligned with the engineering and Product goals.
- Establish and maintain best practices, standards, methodologies, and tools (including AI) for program management and planning activities across the engineering organization.
- Work with world-class engineering teams to build solutions while breaking down technical and cross-functional barriers.
- Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and coordination among the engineering teams and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and report on the progress, status, risks, and issues of the engineering programs and projects.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the PMO processes, data, and technology solutions.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to the PMO team and engineering leaders on program management principles and practices.
- Contribute positively to the Engineering team culture and make program management enjoyable.
Proven experience in leading engineering program management teams and delivering complex software solutions in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, project management tools, data analysis, risk management, and stakeholder management.
Track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs with high impact and visibility. Experience overseeing multiple projects and teams across various domains and geographies.
Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and engineering best practices.
