An exciting opportunity is available at the largest book publisher in Australia, Penguin Random House, for a Marketing and Publicity Coordinator reporting to the Marketing and Publicity Director to join our North Sydney team.


This integral role is responsible for providing highly organised and timely administrative support to the Marketing and Publicity Teams, administering queries with speed, coordinating and maintaining records and handling internal and external communications.


The successful applicant will also manage the production and delivery of marketing assets and collateral in collaboration with departments throughout the wider business.


Responsibilities include being able to:

  • Provide general administrative support including mail run, mail outs and coordinating events
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with media and booksellers and authors
  • Regularly maintaining media databases
  • Monitor media activity and manage media clippings
  • Assist with author events as required
  • Assist in the creation of marketing campaigns that connect books with readers and range from yearlong brand plans to individual title releases
  • Demonstrate creativity and a willingness to share and hone ideas with a team
  • Source advertising opportunities and book placements as directed
  • Obtain supplier quotes, send through artwork and check delivery of both consumer and trade marketing collateral
  • Ensure that collateral is used to its maximum advantage and constantly look for opportunities to amplify its message
  • Collaborate with sales, product and publishing to ensure campaigns achieve their best results
  • Help to evaluate the success of campaigns and feedback learnings and recommendations
  • Demonstrate an agile approach to planning, and an ability to proactively address challenges and identify solutions
  • Take minutes for group meetings and assist with setting agendas
  • Manage internal scheduling including, but not limited to media bookings, release and production schedules
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to multitask under tight deadlines and have a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Indesign, Mailchimp and Powerpoint preferred
  • Passion for books
