Your Opportunity Awaits

As a Disability Support Worker, you're not just filling a role; you're helping people reach their goals. Reporting to our NDIS Assistant Service manager you'll:

  • Help participants become more independent, build positive social connections, and forge friendships within the community and with other participants.
  • Work together with participants to identify their employment goals and develop plans to achieve them, including training, travel arrangements, interview skills, and organisational abilities.
  • Prioritise forming genuine connections and empowering participants throughout their journey.
  • Be available to work a mix of weekday and weekend shifts.
  • Provide flexible and timely support to participants facing behavioural challenges, utilising techniques like de-escalation and positive behaviour support when needed.
  • Assist with daily tasks and activities while also focusing on promoting employment goals and arranging social activities within the community.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • First aid certificate
  • Experience in providing positive support to clients with challenging behaviours
  • Experience in utilising positive behaviour support plans is essential
  • Certificate 3 in disability is highly desirable, however, not essential

Essential Criteria

To join our team, you'll need:

  • Previous experience within disability services or similar
  • An NDIS Workers Check (or a willingness to obtain one).
  • A Working With Children Check (or a willingness to obtain one).
  • A driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to understand and agree with Castle's Vision, Purpose and Value statements and the ability to apply these values to your own work
