The Trust & Safety (T&S) Group at Canva aims to be the most trusted company for safe design. They focus on protecting user safety and preventing abuse and fraud.

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with experience in trust and safety to join us.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs to ensure the safety of our products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure features
  • Identify and mitigate trust and safety risks
  • Implement controls for user protection and fraud prevention
  • Enhance monitoring tools for safety metrics
  • Stay updated on industry trends for platform security
  • Participate in code reviews and troubleshooting
  • Mentor junior engineers

Required Experience:

  • Experience with high availability services
  • Proficiency in backend development with Java, Python, or Ruby
  • Knowledge of product life cycle and working with various partners
  • Experience with cloud platforms and databases

Nice to have:

  • Experience in trust & safety or AI
  • Experience in machine learning
