We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced and passionate specialist to be part of the team working to deliver a healthy urban forest in Camden.

The role encompasses the management and maintenance of both public and private trees while working towards building and enhancing canopy cover.


Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture (minimum Certificate V) and or Horticulture with demonstrated experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience in the assessment and processing of Tree Permits and development referrals.
  • Broad Understanding of relevant tree and vegetation protection legislation eg. Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, and State Environmental Planning Policy (Biodiversity and Conservation) 202
  • Project management skills, including organisation and time management.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in actioning customer requests and preparing customer responses and work orders.

Desirable:

  • Experience in capturing and programming tasks and requests for planned works in an online system.
  • Understanding of local government procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Experience with Asset Management Software.
  • Experience in using GIS.
  • To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs._
