About the program


Dillon House provides residential 24/7 supported accommodation for up to 3 young people 16-24 years old, who require support to develop their independent living skills and/ or who exhibit behaviours (i.e., mental health or substance misuse issues) which could place them at risk in independent accommodation.

Dillon House offers a safe and welcoming home where young people are supported to develop independent living skills including cooking, meal planning, shopping, budgeting, and banking.


About the role


We are seeking a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Afterhours Support Worker, Dillon House to join our team working in a residential setting.

Competitive remuneration, plus salary packaging benefit, is offered together with ongoing professional and career development.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working effectively with young people who may experience homelessness, substance misuse, mental health concerns, aggressive behaviours and other complex issues.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, including high level objectivity and capacity to work with disadvantaged young people who display challenging behaviours.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound assessment of crisis situations including substance misuse, first aid and challenging behaviours.
  • An awareness and understanding of the issues that face young people who have experienced institutionalisation and/ or have had contact with the criminal justice system.
  • An ability and commitment to work as part of a team to support young people within a residential environment.
