About Calvary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist to join the General Medicine Department

The successful applicant will be required to provide clinical care (which includes inpatient, on-call clinical roster, consult and outpatient duties) to patients of the CPHB in a supportive and caring environment.

About the role

This position is being offered as a Visiting Medical Officer

This is a busy department working with a team of consultants, registrars and junior doctors.

The hospital is fully accredited using the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards, you will be providing both inpatient and outpatient care and be required to participate in the general medicine on-call roster.

As a teaching hospital for the Australian National University (ANU) Medical School, there is opportunity to provide supervision and teaching of medical students.

Research opportunities exist as Calvary has affiliations with the ANU, University of Canberra and Australian Catholic University.

What you bring

Mandatory:

COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt.

Influenza vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt.

Fully registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Gastroenterology or equivalent

Conjoint Committee recognition in Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy.

Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or be able to independently, legally live and work in Australia.

Proven track record in evidence based practice and evidence of sound judgement in clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients.

Excellent interpersonal skills including effective negotiation and conflict resolution, and an ability to liaise effectively at all levels of work, and interact as part of a diverse professional team.

Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to deliver quality assurance measures, research and best practice models of operation, within accreditation and organisational requirements.

Ability to implement improvement and innovation in the clinical setting.
