Community Home Australia is the first non-institutional provider of specialist support and care to people living with younger onset dementia in the ACT.

We offer permanent accommodation, planned and emergency respite (in our houses) and day programs (at Club Kalina in Greenway) and enjoy direct care staffing ratios of 1:3, twenty four hours a day.

We offer attractive remuneration with 6 weeks annual leave, 20 days personal leave plus 12% superannuation.

We work with staff at all levels to encourage a work life balance and offer considerable support to achieve this.


Due to significant demand for our services we are looking to engage a new Manager of Housing who will oversee the direct management of three houses totalling 12 beds (6 beds in the ACT and 3 in the south eastern NSW town of Nelligen).

Further expansion of the portfolio is likely over the next 2 years. The homes offer Supported Independent Living and Planned and Emergency Respite.

The role has a full time team leader to support them and an EN in-charge on weekends. Weekend oncall is split across the senior management team.


All applicants must hold AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and have a strong desire to work with people living with dementia.

People with relevant experience and ongoing education in dementia and person centred care are strongly encouraged to apply.

Completion of ongoing specialist training in dementia care is a mandatory component of this position and you will be enabled to complete ongoing professional development as part of your employment.

We also have strong links with the University of Canberra so opportunities to engage in research projects is often available.

All clinical staff at Community Home Australia participate in an ongoing professional development program with the Canberra Hospital to ensure ongoing clinical competence and provide exposure to acute care geriatric nursing.

The role is a combination of management and clinical tasks and should be considered a hands on role.

The Manager will work with their team to achieve the desired outcomes of our guests and the organisation and we require all staff to display considerable flexibility and a willingness to engage with our guests to enable them to live their lives as they wish.

Considerable resources and support are available to enable the manager to achieve the organisations goals.

Salary:
From $100,000.00 per year
