Closing Date: 26/11/2023- Job Type: Temporary- Location: Maitland- Job Category: School Support Staff (Ancillary)All Saints' College Maitland is seeking a temporary part-time (6 hours per week) TAS Assistant to join the team in 2024 for 12 months.


All Saints' College is a coeducational year 7-12 Catholic School which is part of the Maitland Newcastle Diocese system of schools.

With approximately 1400 students and 200 staff learning and working across 2 campuses, we are the largest school in our diocese and one of the largest Catholic Schools in the state.

St Peter's Campus caters for our year 7-10 students, and St Mary's Campus caters for our senior students in years 11 and 12.

Following the decision by the Diocese in 2021 the College will be transitioning to one campus in the next few years.

The position of TAS Assistant will be responsible for providing direct support and assistance to the Technology Teachers and contributing to the maintenance and development of a safe working TAS and Workshop environment.

This position will form part of a team and work closely with, and take direction from, the TAS Leader of Learning and members of the School Leadership Team.


Desired Skills and Experience:

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate with school staff, students and the community
  • Sound understanding of, and commitment to WH&S standards and requirements including maintaining records such as Chemical Safety Records
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe working environment
  • Demonstrated experience in workshop maintenance in a school setting or equivalent
  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain machinery and tools in the schools TAS Workshops
  • Demonstrated capacity to undertake inventory management and ordering systems in a school setting or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise production sequences to ensure Workshop efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualifications in building and/or carpentry or relevant experience
  • Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Willingness to Comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A
  • Accreditation to Work

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
