Role Overview
As a WorkSafe Psychosocial Inspector, you play a crucial role in ensuring workplaces meet their health and safety responsibilities regarding psychosocial risks. You will guide and advise employers, supervisors, and employees on creating safe workplaces, take enforcement actions to ensure compliance with safety laws, and support Health and Safety Representatives in advocating for workers on health and safety matters.
You will make decisions for injured workers and employers within the framework of the Act and organizational policies.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and enforce compliance with OH&S regulations, focusing on workplace bullying, sexual harassment, work-related violence, and other psychosocial risks following WorkSafe guidelines.
- Review incidents, report findings, and recommend further investigations.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, represent WorkSafe at public forums, and engage as per operational procedures.
- Promote safety and prevent injuries in Victorian workplaces.
- Provide expertise to support projects within your area of specialization.
Your Profile
We are looking for individuals passionate about Health and Safety who aim to make a difference. Effective communication, organizational skills, active listening, and a trauma-informed approach to interactions are essential. You should be a team player eager to contribute positively to your team and stakeholders.
- Utilize your expertise in OH&S laws, industry standards, and psychosocial health and safety to ensure compliance and offer advice to stakeholders.
- Share technical knowledge and industry best practices to influence compliance and support team efforts.
- Apply your psychosocial health & safety knowledge to address high-risk issues and provide coaching for field officers.
- Demonstrate professional communication with a diverse range of clients, including those affected by workplace misconduct.
- Hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications in OH&S, Investigations, Psychology, or Organisational Psychology are advantageous.
