SMP TECH is a growing engineering firm looking to expand its operations in Australia.

We provide project management, delivery, support and engineering services to our clients and partners in NSW and across Australia in construction, testing, commissioning and maintenance projects.

SMP TECH is working in a prestigious tunnel and water treatment project in Sydney, with a high potential in Metro/rail projects, utilities and building projects in the near future.


The main duties of the position include:

  • Installing and testing ELV (Extra-Low-Voltage) equipment, fire alarm, security and audio-visual, sensors, and other equipment or systems within the Greater Sydney area to ensure maximum uptime & customer satisfaction.
  • Advising users of appropriate operating procedures according to the manuals after completing the installation
  • Adjusting the position, settings of the equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and replacing faulty parts when necessary
  • Servicing and maintaining the installed equipment on a regular basis
  • Analyzing areas of potential improvement of products and reporting to the supervisor
  • A qualified technician with strong engineering background experience in either maintenance, manufacturing, industrial environments will be a good fit for the role.
  • Mechatronics / electrical trade with an engineering 5+ years' experience.
  • Experience with electrical drawings, SLDs, schematics, and codes.
  • Basic understanding of control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, etc...)
  • Experience in cabling and wires terminations.
  • Conducting electrical safety checks on equipment
  • Previous experience interacting face to face with customers
  • Very strong diagnostic and analytical capabilities, especially in relation to mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment
  • Experienced in troubleshooting electronic equipment and be able to replace circuit boards, sensors and other electronic components.
  • Technical WHS knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of WHS Legislation and safety audits.
  • Driving between locations is a large part of the role & so a clean driving record & love for being on the road is paramount. This is a highly autonomous position that would suit someone who enjoys working individually.
  • Able to work across a 7day rotating roster, including weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High risk work license wp
  • EWP operator.
  • Class HR or HC driving license.
  • Work safety at heights.
  • First Aid HLTAID009, HLTAID010 & HLTAID01
  • Operate elevating work platform.
  • LV work safety
  • White card
