We currently have an exciting role for you to join our Community Safety Team, as Urban Development Liaison Officer.


This position protects our community from local nuisance's caused by urban development and promotes a clean and safe environment that aims to improve the amenity value of our community.


Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Engage with developers, builders, and tradespeople to educate and enforce the requirements of Local Nuisance & Litter Control Act and Local Government Act to reduce the impact of urban development on the community.
  • Partake in regular stakeholder meetings for large developments to stay informed on any impacts to the community or council infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement tools and strategies to educate builders, residents, and the public to improve amenity throughout the community.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience negotiating outcomes with conflicting priorities
  • Experience in project management
  • Customer focused and passionate about delivering for our community
  • Interpersonal skills that build good work relationships
  • Good problem solving, innovative thinking and informed decision making
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulation, and policies relevant to managing local nuisance in urban development, in particular:
  • Local Nuisance & Litter Control Act
  • Local Government Act
  • Australian Road Rules
  • Environment Protection Policies
