About the role:

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Environmental Scientist, Environmental Sciences, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the science services alignment initiative program of work. You will lead a program of work that supports improvements to EPA's science services, including the implementation of changes required for science services to better align services to organisational priorities, and enable capacity planning and resource management.

In this role you will:

  • Implement EPA's science services alignment initiative and associated program of work to ensure that scheduled activities and project milestones are undertaken in line with expected delivery.
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver on a range of change related activities within tight timeframes, including business readiness preparations, facilitating workshops and training sessions, negotiating and influencing key project stakeholders to embrace and drive change.
  • Develop and implement project management and change management plans, with clearly defined objectives, targets, and measures to assess change effectiveness in both a qualitative and quantitative manner; continually align and integrate change management planning, activity, and evaluation with broader organisational activity to improve regulatory performance.
  • Working in partnership with the business analyst and Enterprise Program Management Office to deliver work program and associated activities for science services alignment initiative.

Skills and experience:

  • Senior experience as a change and program manager preferably within government to successfully deliver work programs.
  • Ability to manage and work effectively with other managers and senior leaders across the division to proactively engage and support in the delivery of the work program.
  • Advanced management skills and demonstrated capability to plan, monitor and deliver programs with cross organisational dependencies, including risk identification and management, in line with project schedule; optimise opportunities for resource support and allocation; and evaluate project / program effectiveness.
  • A proven record of achievement in a similar role which contributes to organisational excellence, high standards of performance and a positive organisational culture.
