The team
The Finance team provides a range of financial support and analysis services to all ASIC internal and external stakeholders.

The PGPA Finance Compliance Team is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and management of organisation wide compliance with the PGPA financial framework and policies that support the achievement of ASIC objectives.

The Finance team is responsible for partnering with business managers across ASIC to provide financial information to improve decision making, ensure compliance with relevant legislative and statutory obligations, and support budgetary control of all activities undertaken to achieve ASIC's strategic priorities.

The role

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for:

  • Assisting with the compliance reporting relating to ASIC's responsibilities under Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA).
  • Monitoring compliance obligations and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to manage compliance risks via the PGPA financial framework compliance programme.
  • Assisting with maintenance and promotion of appropriate policies, procedures, education programmes and associated governance frameworks to ensure that ASIC complies with accounting standards, regulations, statutory and legislative requirements and government directions.
  • Monitoring of legislative developments, market trends, professional standards and best practice so that opportunities for improvement and or compliance related requirements are identified and actioned as appropriate.
  • Overseeing the administration of ASIC's Corporate Card and Comcover Insurance Policies.
About you

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and the ability to organise, analyse and disseminate financial information with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

You will need extensive knowledge of control environments & requirements, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to effectively manage legislative compliance in a government agency will be highly regarded.

Formal qualifications in accounting will be a benefit in fulfilling this role.
