We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department in an integral role, supporting the Director of Finance in a number of areas of financial reporting, compliance and maintenance of the general ledger. The responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Director of Finance in achieving objectives, including assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and oversee the generation of financial reports, including monthly reports with variance analysis, daily bank reconciliations, and cash flow projections.
  • Manage month-end tasks such as journal entries and General Ledger reconciliations, as well as annual processes like financial audits and tax returns.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare monthly capital expense reports.
  • Maintain records for compliance and reporting purposes, including BAS, FBT, STAT Returns, and grant reconciliations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting.
  • A minimum of 5 years in comparable role (education experience preferred)
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy involving numeric data and data entry
  • Excellent computer literacy, including spreadsheets, data entry and knowledge of MS Office Software to an advanced level
  • Experience in Synergetic would be advantageous
  • Time management skills and ability to complete tasks within strict deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team.
