Toowoomba Grammar School is seeking Expressions of Interest for a dynamic and energetic Sports Development Officer.

TGS staff are passionate about boys' education and providing an inspiring and broad curriculum for all boys informed by best practice and evidence.


About Toowoomba Grammar School
Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875.

It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12.

There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

The School's campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.


It is our vision that our boys will graduate from TGS with the skills to be independent, well-balanced, and successful in life.

That they are boys of good character who respond well to challenges and achieve life-long wellbeing.

About the Position
The Sports Development Officer will assist in sports administration duties within the Sports Department.

The administration duties will include the management of the Athletics program and the co-ordination of the Grammar Blazers external camp strategy.

This is a newly formed role with the opportunity for role ownership and would suit someone who is interested in sports and is a driving force behind the administration of various sporting events and engagements of TGS.

If you are dedicated to fostering a love for physical activity and team work within our School community and have the skills to empower students to reach their athletic potential this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

You will need to bring with you skills in organising tournaments and implementing innovative training programs.

Your infection energy, vibrant personality and ability to organise and provide a strong administration skill set will assist you to be successful in this role.


Selection Criteria:

You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

  • Managing the coordination and implementation of various administrative functions and camps;
  • Demonstrating high levels of organisation and the ability to communicate with people of all levels and build lasting relationships with students, coaches parents and other school staff;
  • Being action oriented, vibrant on your role, someone who is able to meet deadlines and make it happen;
  • Further developing a cohort of student athletes to achieve defined outcomes, whilst wholistically being able to identify future student growth and opportunities; and
- ongoing personal and professional development
