We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services.

Bringing these health, hospital and aged care services together, HammondCare has been able to develop innovative, flexible care models designed to serve people with complex health or aged care needs, regardless of their circumstances.
About the role:
The role of Director of Rehabilitation and Staff Specialist works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the Rehabilitation Unit functions in a way that aligns completely with the Mission, Vision and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare, in accord with the organisation's future plans for the development of the hospital and its services.
Essence of the role:
- Provide strategic direction for and clinical team leadership of the Rehabilitation Unit, in conjunction with Health & Hospitals administrative staff, and with other senior professionals in the clinical discipline of rehabilitation;
- Provide and encourage demonstrably high quality specialist rehabilitation care in inpatient, outpatient and day hospital settings;
- Provide liaison with and advice to District, Ministry of Health and College of Physicians staff and medical peers, in the development of rehabilitation services at HammondCare, and more generally in NSW;
- Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, and undertake research in rehabilitation and restorative care, as opportunities present
Essential/Desirable:
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- Registered as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Rehabilitation Medicine in Australia (AHPRA), with administrative qualification or relevant service administration experience
- Fellowship of Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine or equivalent Consultant qualification
- Credentialed experience in multidisciplinary specialist practice in inpatient, day hospital, consultative, clinic and community settings
- Experience in clinical services administration and demonstrated capacity for leadership in the provision of specialist services
- Experience & skills in quality improvement & policy development
- Experience in teaching, research and curriculum development
- Current Driver's License
