Ensure Customer Satisfaction and Service Delivery:

  • Maintain equipment for AQC laboratory and other units.
  • Keep all records up to date.
  • Respond timely to operational inquiries, minimizing customer complaints.
  • Provide customer reports accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare AQC standards and solutions within agreed time frames.
  • Ensure calibrations meet relevant standards.

Support Improvements in Efficiency and Productivity:

  • Participate in staff rotation and multi-skilling across analyses.
  • Meet efficiency and productivity targets.
  • Engage in internal audits, workplace inspections, and AQC Programs.
  • Contribute to the review processes of methods performed, making recommendations for improvements.

Prioritize Safety:

  • Take responsibility for personal and team safety.
  • Conduct risk assessments, stock holdings, and workplace inspections as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report hazards promptly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Science Technician Certificate or equivalent (Essential)
  • Consistent ability to work with a high level of analytical accuracy (Essential)
  • Effective time management and task prioritization skills (Desirable)
  • Experience in laboratory information management systems, NATA, and ISO quality management (Desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of WHS practices in a laboratory setting (Desirable)

Key Stakeholder Relationships:

  • All Laboratory Services, Research, Asset Operations & Delivery, People & Safety, Supply Chain, Information Technology
  • Customers
  • Auditors and assessors
  • Suppliers of technical goods and instrumentation

Special Conditions:

  • Flexible hours and some afterhours work as required, with intra and interstate travel (mandatory)
  • Mandatory clearance checks including criminal police check, traffic check, and Working with Children/Vulnerable People
  • Mandatory medical clearances and immunizations, including Covid19, Hepatitis A/B, Q Fever, and Flu.
