Electricity transmission will be central to the energy transformation needed to achieve economy-wide decarbonisation.
Transgrid is helping create a clean energy future by supporting and ensuring a smooth transition to renewables.

Timely investment in new infrastructure will be essential for the power system's successful transformation to the energy system of the future.

Transgrid is reinforcing the transmission network in southern NSW with Hume Link - a new 500 k V transmission line project that will improve the flow of electricity between new generation sources and major demand centres in NSW.

It is one of the state's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 360 km of proposed new transmission lines, and new or upgraded infrastructure at three locations.

Hume Link will provide a crucial hub for the flow of electricity in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
The project will enable high volume energy transfer around the NEM improving access to affordable electricity.

As the Site Manager - Transmission Lines, you will monitor contractor and internal resource performance and facilitate the site management of construction works for the 500k V transmission line on the Humelink project.

You will also ensure project delivery is in compliance with associated contract specifications, Transgrid polices & procedures to meet all stakeholder expectations.

About you

Possession of an appropriate qualification:
Electrical trade certificate or equivalent; OR
Lineworker trade Transmission or Distribution or equivalent, OR
Civil based trade in relevant Construction discipline, OR
Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management Project Management or equivalent; OR
Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil), Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent.
Authorised under Trans Grid's Safety Rules – (perform low voltage and high voltage switching) or be willing to undergo training to obtain
Experience in construction or supervision of major infrastructure
Knowledge in the application of WHS and environmental legislation relative to duties of the position
Hold or willingness to acquire the Certificate IV in WHS
Knowledge of corporate drawings, design and management systems
Sound interpersonal skills (including written and oral communication), which will facilitate the achievement of project objectives
Knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Good computer skills and knowledge of computer packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Cloud based project related systems
NSW Driver's Licence
Willingness to assist with implementation of organisational change
This position may require times of substantial time away from the base location, dependant on the work demands of the organisation
