About the team
The Financial, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is responsible for the provision of quality management reporting, variance analysis and insights into driving factors, risks, and potential mitigations for the respective branches and Divisions.
The opportunity
Right now, we have a unique opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our team on a
12-month fixed term basis.
The role is to provide a range financial management service to meet internal and external reporting and analysis requirements, statutory compliance requirements and support the achievement of business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support collaboration and information flow with central teams to assist in the balancing of legislative and accounting standard compliance with the achievement of business needs in line business principles by implementing and monitoring financial policies, guidelines and business rules.
- Support in the preparing of detailed "bottom up" financial data inputs (budget and forecast) and commentary to assist in producing reliable and robust financial information, including financial statements, Treasury submissions and inputs to other financial management reporting and analysis.
- Undertake research to assist with financial analysis and reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data and identify risk areas. This includes monitoring of monthly results for transactional issues with accruals, prepayments, capitalisation, and project costing allocations.
- Support and coordinate analysis of issues, opportunities and options related to management accounting outcomes as directed to support optimisation against outcomes over time.
- Assisting with the preparation of briefings and options papers on technical matters for consideration by the Finance Business Partners and Senior Managers.
About you
You are an experienced Financial Analyst looking for an opportunity to make a difference in Transport for NSW.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated management accounting, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated communication and stakeholder management skills
- Qualifications as a CA or CPA
- Advanced technical skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to manage and prioritise competing responsibilities
- Strong Management accounting experience
- Experience in Finance business partnering
- Exceptional communication skills able to articulate complex information to stakeholder
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 7A ($108, E ($121,822) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
