Reporting to the Placement Supervisor, Foster Care Services, the Placement Coordinator has a key role in the mission to provide stable and caring homes for children in need. The role involves coordinating with the Matching and Allocation Team (DCP) and Foster Care Services team to manage referrals of children potentially needing placement with LC Foster Carers, ensuring the best outcomes for each child.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Matching and Allocation Team (DCP) and Foster Care Services team for child referrals and placements.
  • Collaborate closely to ensure optimal placement outcomes for each child.
  • Assess and match children with suitable foster homes, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Support and supervise foster families, offering necessary resources.
  • Interact with DCP Placement Services Unit effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in foster care services and understanding of foster carers' challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for public and organizational interactions.
  • Effective communication with diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of trauma, abuse effects, child development, and behavior management in care.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and quick responsiveness.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and focus on teamwork.
  • Competency in using technology and commitment to Lutheran Care Vision and Values.
