About the Position:


This position sits in the Early Years & Family Services team and is available to support the capacity building of early childhood teachers providing a funded kindergarten program, across 90 early years services.


To provide a leading role in building the capacity of funded kindergarten programs, to provide an inclusive environment for children, and their families, in order to support their wellbeing and development.


To support access and participation of children with additional needs, by providing consultation, resourcing and advice to early childhood educators.


Support family centred practices by offering parents and early childhood professionals, information and advice on planning processes for service delivery.

Assisting services to link with relevant community groups, services and organisations.

Supporting services to work in partnership with families and support networks.

Assisting services to identify professional development needs and opportunities for kindergarten educators.

Facilitating development of program plans that respond to identified service needs.

About You:

A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, with several years' experience working in the field;
Additional qualifications in special education and/or experience working in special education settings are desirable;
Demonstrated experience in working with children of all abilities and cultural backgrounds, including children from an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island background;
Demonstrated experience in working with children known to Child Protection or who have experienced trauma;
Substantial experience, knowledge and understanding in planning and evaluating responsive early childhood programs;
Obtain a Employee Working with Children's Check; and

Obtain a satisfactory National Police Check.
