POSITION PURPOSE
The Corporate Communications Advisor plays a lead role in communicating the global story of IDP and its people through internal and external channels to help bring to life IDP's strategy, priorities, successes and stories of our team members,

This is a
Fixed term role from October 2023 to August 2024 based out of
Melbourne.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal communications

  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy that informs and engages our employees across all countries, while aligning with our corporate vision, values, strategy and KPIs.
  • Review and contribute to our corporate narrative to ensure a consistent and compelling message.
  • Provide communications advice and support to business units and Global Leadership Team (GLT) executives, including assisting with speeches for the CEO and GLT members.
  • Manage IDP's internal newsletter, including sourcing and drafting content, designing and publishing the newsletter, and monitoring, measuring and reporting on readership.
  • Own 'Town Hall' strategy sessions, ensuring alignment with business strategy and developing presentation materials.
  • Project manage and support teams with multimedia production, covering both pre
- and post-production phases.

External communications

  • Assist the Head of Global Corporate Communications in managing both proactive and reactive external communications.
  • Draft media releases to support key business initiatives.
  • Provide communications support to address and protect IDP's reputation during critical issues.
  • Collaborate with our PR agency to research and develop communications that establish our executives as thought leaders in the industry.
  • Draft content for key IDP publications, including the Annual Report.
  • Develop and implement a content strategy for proactive B2B communications through channels like LinkedIn.
  • Manage IDP's media monitoring accounts and escalate any reputational issues.
  • Share valuable media insights related to IDP and the industry with key internal stakeholders.

Company-wide collaboration
Co-lead the ownership of IDP Education's internal collaboration tool.

  • Own the content strategy and content calendar, working closely with the People Experience (PX) team.
  • Develop the communications strategy and plan for the tool's launch and ongoing engagement.
  • Initiate programs to encourage teams to use the tool effectively.
  • Monitor platform usage and provide monthly reports.
  • Create a platform knowledge base to facilitate project collaboration across countries.
  • Optimise the user experience and elevate priority content.

Website editing

Co-own the IDP corporate careers website, including:

  • Co-lead the project team for the development of the website.
  • Create and publish thoughtleadership content regularly to attract visitors to the website.
  • Ensure the website's content regularly updated and refreshed.

People

  • Support and coach teams on internal and external communications approaches.
  • Facilitate a Communications Community of Best Practice within our network.
  • Contribute to building a positive work environment.
  • Use awareness of own strengths and needs to drive growth and development.
  • Provide honest and constructive feedback to colleagues and stakeholders.

Compliance

  • Adhere to IDP Education's quality and compliance requirements for managing marketing collateral, contracts and privacy requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum five years' experience in communications or journalism
  • Excellent written communication skills and copywriting for the publications and website
  • Proven experience writing for senior leadership teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage and influence outcomes
  • Ability to make decisions and act with integrity

  • Experience and knowledge in web analytics
  • Experience in web content development and managing social media
