Part-time (2-days):

Emerald Tree Counselling has again opened up our Graduate Counselling program beginning November 2023. This program is open to new graduates (with maturity and industry experience) - Social workers, Psychologists, and OTs, who are looking to move towards a counselling-specific role within a private practice.


We are keen to hear from graduates, or emerging clinicians, with a positive and proactive approach to joining our Therapy/Clinical team.

You will have a varied caseload that includes Disability, high prevalence mental health disorders, EAP, and trauma.

Your primary goal will be to work as part of a Clinical team of allied health professionals, integrating your tertiary training, life skills, and therapy training (that will be enhanced as part of our graduate program).

You will also be working towards the completion of your MHSW/ Full registration as a Psychologist/or MHOT accreditation - if you have not already obtained these.

This position reports directly to the clinical director.


With 1 part-time (2-day) position available at our Geelong West office, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive, calm, and team-focused environment.

This position leads to a permanent clinical position at completion.

We will also provide you 1-week study leave per year (pro rata) and a reduced caseload to allow for extra planning and development.

About you:


To be successful you will hold a degree in Psychology, Social work, or OT, and be actively working towards a professional registration in the relevant Allied Health field.

You will have a passion for furthering your skills in Counselling and hold a demonstrable commitment to a collaborative team approach and advancing your skills.


It is imperative that you are a team player, and are open to learning all aspects of working in this field, in addition to your counselling 1:1 sessions, (ie: office duties, report writing, and developing rapport and positive working relationships with stakeholders and families).
