Position: Hairdresser

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $70,000 to $72,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Geelong West VIC 3218

Our client is seeking an experienced full-time Hairdresser to join their salon located in Geelong West, Victoria.

Tasks required include:

General Duties:

• Performing reception duties which include attending to telephone calls, taking bookings, payments and general enquiries.
• Understanding the client's requirements by effectively communication with the customers.
• Ensuring and maintaining the cleanliness of workstations and salons.
• Performing her duties by following procedures and systems and adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Maintaining work ethics and maintaining good customer relations at all times.

Colouring Duties:

• This pertains to both permanent and semi-permanent applications and treatments as per the client's requirements:
• Analysing the customer's hair and scalp conditions by consulting the customer and supervisor (where necessary).
• Using the right colour options by mixing colour correction remedies/ techniques.
• To apply permanent, semi-permanent hair colours.
• Using foils and techniques for high lighting and per lightening hairs.
• Apply of perm solutions and neutralization post treatments.
• Rinsing and removal of processing chemicals.
• Straightening and winding hair with straightening boards and rods.
• Checking hair for reforming and bonds and relaxing of bonds.
• Full head bleach applied for desired results.
• Treatments for scalps and hair conditions including blow drying and finishing hairstyle.
• Providing after care services and advising on after care products.

Cutting Duties:

• By shampooing client's hair and preparing for cutting.
• Performed various cutting techniques and styles on both men and women i.e. graduated cuts, clipper cuts, solid form, uniform layering and increased layering.
• Blow drying and finish off dressing out on clients.

Requirements:

• Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Hairdressing
• At least two (2) years of relevant Hairdressing experience.
