About the Role

The Pro Vice Chancellor: Aboriginal Leadership and Strategy is responsible for advancing and overseeing the University's Aboriginal:

  • Student recruitment and transition initiatives
  • Student engagement and support strategies
  • Education strategy
  • Research strategy
  • Employment strategy
  • Community leadership, outreach, and engagement strategies

In collaboration with the Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT), this role will enable the University to enhance the supports provided for our Aboriginal students and staff and strengthen our position as the University of Choice for Aboriginal Peoples in South Australia and beyond.

Essential Requirements and Experience

There are several initiatives that ensure a welcoming, supportive, inclusive and culturally safe workplace, such as the Aboriginal staff network, mentorship program, flexible work arrangements, cultural leave provisions and professional development opportunities.

UniSA is seeking a high-performing and proven team player who embraces diversity and inclusion in all their interactions with staff and students. We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in a senior leadership capacity with demonstrated cultural competence and collaboration with others in managing complex issues and delivering appropriate solutions within a culturally safe and respectful environment, along with a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, history, and the specific issues facing Aboriginal communities.
