We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Metallurgist to join our Lithium Operations at the Mount Marion site on a 8/6 roster.
This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of our plant expansion contributing to the growth of our lithium production and play a vital role in the renewable energy sector.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the metallurgical processes and operations within the lithium plant.
- Conduct continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance, efficiency, and recovery.
- Monitor plant operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Analyze and interpret metallurgical data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Provide technical support and expertise to the operations team to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Assistance with planning of commissioning and rampup.
- Preparation of operation manuals.
- Assistance with workforce training.
- Participation in commissioning teams.
- Metallurgical accounting including daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
- Stockpile management to ensure concentrate haulage to port meets specification and timing requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mineral processing plant, preferably in lithium operations.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles, processes, and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
