ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:


We have an exciting opportunity within our Seniors and Disability Services team for casual NDIS Support Workers to provide a range of quality direct services including providing information, carer support, advocacy, nutrition services, transport and activities, events and social groups.

You will promote social inclusion, encourage an enhanced quality of life and increase capacity for seniors and people with disability to participate in the community.


This position is responsible for providing meaningful and necessary direct support to adult customers with disability in accordance with their care plans and NDIS goals.

Transporting customers safely to outings, maintaining customer attendance records and ensuring that customers are engaged in the program they are attending is also part of this diverse role.


The successful applicant will require:

  • Class C drivers licence
  • Demonstrated ability to relate and engage with people with disability and their carers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound written skills with a demonstrated ability to write clear and concise care support notes and mandatory forms
  • Ability to work as part of a team, be flexible and have good time management skills
  • Experience working with volunteers.

Position information:

This is a casual position, working flexible shifts including weeknights and weekends based on delivering various programs and service needs as required.

Shifts are generally available on the following days and hours:

  • Tuesday to Friday evenings: 4:00pm to 9:30pm
  • Friday: 9:30am to 2:30pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am to 4pm or 4:30pm to 11:30pm


This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands office, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.


Salary information:
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 6 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a hourly rate of $31.13 to $35.80 per hour plus 25% casual loading, weekend penalty rates (where applicable) and 10.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
