The Y Queensland's childcare services has been serving Australian communities for more than four decades, starting with the opening of our first early learning service in Brisbane back in 1977 to address the need for childcare that caters to the holistic growth of children.

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) offers a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for primary and secondary school children both before and after school, where they can take part in various activities like cooking, sports, music, art, and dance.

Your workplace at the Y

YMCA Ashgrove Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is situated within Ashgrove State School's premises and is licensed to accommodate up to 135 children.

We provide Before and After School Care services from 6:30am to 9:00am and 2:30pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Additionally, we offer Vacation Care, running from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

At YMCA Ashgrove, our diverse team of educators leverages their strengths to create an exciting and interactive experience for children, offering a mix of indoor and outdoor play options, homework assistance, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

The service designs tailored programs that cater to the age, skills, interests, and abilities of each child, focusing on a variety of stimulating and recreational activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

OSHC Educators play a vital role in caring for children outside school hours and during holidays, organizing entertaining and educational activities such as science experiments, outdoor games, arts and crafts, and musical sessions.

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a Certificate or Diploma in Children's Services or currently pursuing a related qualification
  • Possess a great sense of fun and a vivid imagination
  • Hold or be prepared to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Have a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to acquire one
