Our client a Global Oil and Gas organization in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Material Handler to join them for a 12-month contract.
Material movement and recording of all equipment including loading and unloading trucks and moving material from location to location manually or by mechanical means of material handling equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Execute assigned work following established procedures and processesProactively participate in HSE initiatives and programs. Stop work activities if work is identified or believed to be executed in an unsafe manner and lead and motivate other colleagues to do the samePhysically prepare materials for safe movement or shipmentPractice good housekeeping in assigned area and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environment policiesPrepare suitable storage plans, set up storage locations to optimize storage space and effect storage requirements in line with plansEfficiently and accurately store, track and control all project material in custody, including executing all internal movements physically and systematically in SAPPrepare accurate reports and records of the equipment and spare parts inventory at the base, offshore locations and at onshore site locations in SAPPrepare, generate and update inventory count sheets for customer property audits, general requests, and cycle counts. Execute routine stock checksPromptly report any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to team leaderMove materials between locations as instructed by delivery notes by lifting, pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, forklifts, pallets stackers, and other material handling equipmentLoad and unload trucks according to established safety and operating procedures and processesAssist in the preparation of shipments by staging, counting, documenting, and packaging materials for safe transport. Process paperwork and enter SAP data update, request transport through 3rd party provider and buyersDistribute received shipment by delivering materials to requestor and/or stock location. Process paperwork and system update to record transactionsAssist in physically locating materials in the warehouse and yardPrepare all shipping and transportation documents, including shipping proforma's and material movements tickets, and filling of sameManage SAP inventory entries and update systematically and also physically by weighing, measuring, and recording materials and creating and attaching identifying equipment tagsAssist in internal and customer audits and cycle counts to support inventory control activities;Research equipment in SAP and locate technical drawingsKey Skills and Experience Required:Valid forklift licenceMinimum of three years of experience in a similar environment working with similar equipmentProven ability to comprehend internal documents including shipping and inventory documents and technical drawingsAbility to operate a pallet stacker and power toolsDemonstrated basic mathematical skills (eg: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)Computer literacyWorking knowledge of SAP advantageousInterface with base personnel and Operations coordinators for input on data associated with inventory control, and goods receiving and load-out schedulesExposed to workshop hazards, including: high noise, heavy equipment and machinery, heavy lifts and moments, working at heights, extreme temperatures and yard/workshop traffic75% of time spent in indoor and outdoor storage areas; 25% of time in office based environment for SAP data entry of inventory movementsWalks, bends, lifts and climbs. Lifts up to 20Kg manually, and use material handling equipment for excess of 20kg
