Your new role:

An exciting flexible Maternal and Child Health nursing leadership opportunity is available working within the Knox MCH Coordination team.


We have a permanent part time (0.5 EFT) position which supports our Universal MCH service operations, is a direct report for members of the Universal MCH team and provides oversight of various MCH projects and programs.


We are seeking an innovative and dynamic nurse with a passion for leading people and developing capabilities of others while being responsive to our current community needs.


About the Team
The Knox MCH Coordination team encompasses three positions: Coordinator Child Family Health and Wellbeing, MCH Service Coordinator and MCH Team Leader


The Knox MCH Service comprises of: Universal MCH - 26 nurses, Enhanced MCH program - 5 multidisciplinary staff, Sleep & Settling program - 3 specialist staff, Early Years Support Offices - 4 skilled administrative staff.

All members of our MCH team work collaboratively with others across the broader Family & Children's Services teams, and across Council to help identify children and families who require further assessment, intervention, referral and/or support and bring families together, foster social networks, support playgroups and strengthen local community connections


This role attracts an annual salary of $124,026.39 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus superannuation in accordance with Knox City Council Enterprise Agreement.


What you will need to thrive

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a registered Nurse and a registered midwife and also hold recognised qualifications in Maternal and Child Health nursing;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a nursing team and minimum 5 years' experience working within Universal or Enhanced MCH programs;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Child and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes and risk assessment frameworks;
  • Detailed knowledge of the MCH service guidelines and associated guiding documents;
  • Have a broad understanding of family dynamics and societal complexities;
  • Experience working with families from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds;
  • Have welldeveloped skills in MS Office Suite, Child Development Information Systems (CDIS) and Electronic Data Management Systems;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
