About The Role

We are seeking a Permanant Full-Time Transport Supervisor in Redhill, QLD.

The primary purpose of the role is scheduling driver runs and allocating appropriate resources. Supervise drivers who collect and deliver goods and items to and from Salvos Stores and collect goods from donors.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily usage of trucks including, rostering, scheduling and the allocation of relevant fleet and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of the schedule and monitor truck usage through GPS and other relevant systems.
  • Prepare daily summary report for logistics supervisor.
  • Ensure weekly inspections are conducted on trucks to determine any action required in reference to maintenance, WHS issues and maintaining fleet presentation to the public.
  • Lodge SolvSafety reports where appropriate.
  • Ensure that donor care rescheduling is kept to a minimum and that the call centre is contacted when issues are identified.
  • Ensure working environment, including docking areas and warehouses are well maintained and free of hazards.
  • Monitoring return to work programs and ensure team adhere to any modified duty requirements.
  • Provide information and training to team members via toolbox talks on hazards and OH&S risk reporting and other policies and procedures where relevant.
  • Ensure that needs and excess requests from stores are actioned within 3 days.
  • Organise for rubbish and unsaleable goods to be removed and disposed of in a timely manner.
  • Consider the role we play in the circular economy and ensure that wherever possible we recycle, reuse, resell and repurpose donations.
  • Monitor team adherence to policies and procedures and maintain awareness of any changes as they emerge.
  • Ensure team members remain up to date on mandatory Learning modules.
  • In conjunction with your supervisor and HR (where relevant) ensure all performance and disciplinary matters are handled promptly and with procedural fairness.
