Since our founding in 1991, Dulwich-Newtown Basketball Club (DNBC) has served the basketball needs for children and adults within the Inner West area.

We are an established club, with over 60 active teams across all age groups and levels.

DNBC is currently searching for passionate and energetic individuals to coach our junior basketball teams and Learn to Play programs.

As a coach, you will work with players to help them develop their basketball skills, teach them sportsmanship, and foster a love for the game.

Successful applicants will be highly motivated and ideally possess coaching/playing experience or a good understanding of basketball.

Responsibilities

• Lead skill development training sessions.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills in shooting, dribbling and passing, whilst reinforcing correct technique.
• Implement drills that teach players basic offensive and defensive principles.
• Plan engaging and creative, ageappropriate basketball training sessions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience coaching basketball, or working with children in a teaching or mentoring capacity.
• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, as well as offensive and defensive principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High energy coach that can engage and motivate players.
• Availability on weeknights, between 5pm8pm, and Saturday.
• Valid Working with Children Check.
