CSIRO's Information and Technology (IM&T) division is embarking on an ambitious portfolio of work designed to support the organisations strategy. Underpinning the portfolio is a desire for staff to have seamless, secure access to tools, systems and processes that back the delivery of world class science.

As a Senior Tech Lead for Microsoft Platforms, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our technical strategy and leading a team of skilled professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of M365 technologies and other Microsoft services, including Exchange Online, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams, and related services. You will be responsible for aligning Microsoft services to CSIRO's strategic objectives, driving technical excellence, overseeing roadmaps, managing service ingestion, and providing expert-level support.

Your duties will include:
  • Provide technical leadership to IMT and CSIRO business units. Define and communicate the technical vision, strategy, and best practices for the Microsoft Platforms (M365 technologies, Power Platform and related services).
  • Provide guidance to the projects regarding technical activities, scheduling, and resource requirements and foster collaboration between cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and support. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey technical concepts, project updates, and potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and other stakeholders to create and maintain a roadmap for the evolution of Power Platform and M365 services. Ensure alignment of the technical roadmap with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead lifecycle management and service improvement activities across Microsoft Platform services.
  • Coaching and mentoring of fellow team members.
  • Adhere to the spirit and practice of CSIRO's Code of Conduct, Health, Safety and Environment procedures and policy, Diversity initiatives and Making Safety Personal goals.

Location: All IMT sites AU wide

Salary: AU$126,313 to AU$148,014 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 3 years

To be considered you will need:

5+ years' experience in planning, developing, and implementing Microsoft platforms and services with relevant tertiary experience or equivalent industry experience.

Significant experience planning, designing, and implementing Microsoft technologies at an enterprise scale. CSIRO operate these technologies:

M365 Services ( Exchange , Teams , Viva Engage)

Power Platform Services

SharePoint online Services

Demonstrated experience utilising automation for maintaining and administering the above technologies.

Demonstrated ability in providing technical advice to the team, clients and management. Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring of junior staff.

Excellent communication skills, including an ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary, geographically disperse teams.
