We are one of the manufacturers, who have end-to-end capabilities in sheet metal fabrication, three-stage powder coating, equipment fitting, and performing complex control wiring and bus bar work. Our switchboard solutions are used by building contractors, industrial clients, mines, utilities, energy companies, and renewable sector companies.

ROLE @ ABBA

We are seeking an Engineering Lead in a FULL-TIME permanent role to join our team to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the engineering and technical operations of our business.

  • Providing leadership to the engineering and technical teams.
  • Providing engineering support to our customers from estimation to project delivery.
  • Formulating and implementation of engineering strategies.
  • Technical evaluations of solutions offered by the engineering team.
  • Working out project schedules based on production loading, material availability and client requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  • Ensuring engineering solutions offered are in line with relevant AS/NZS rules, service installation rules and electrical safety regulations.
  • Ensure the products manufactured are in line with engineering instructions, plans, safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Liaise with sales, marketing and production teams to ensure the customer requirements are translated to sound engineering solutions.
  • Carry out research and development activities in developing new products and solutions.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant experience in electrical switchboard estimation, design and project management.
  • At least 10 years' experience in Engineering Management within the electrical switchboard industry.
  • Experience in leading and managing diverse teams.
  • Ability to translate technical features into customer benefits.
  • Clear and compelling communication of the engineering solution to different stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in engineering design, governance and drawing review/approval.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify strategic opportunities regarding current and future products
