About the Role:


This position currently leads a regionally based workforce with the support of two managers (direct reports), providing services to schools and early childhood centres including asset management, strategic infrastructure planning and stakeholder engagement; ensuring all areas of our Division are well supported to concentrate on infrastructure service strategies, delivery and operations contributing to our ability to Build Education for Queensland.

The Director, Regional Operations will be accountable for and lead duties associated with the role that includes:

To provide advice and services that contribute to the effective planning and delivery of fit for purpose, safe and well maintained and operated facilities that enable our teachers and staff to learn, teach and work.

To ensure our ISD Regional Operations are carried out efficiently and economically with Value for Money at the core of decision making.

Manage the emerging and ongoing operational aspects of Do E's infrastructure and asset portfolio, aligned with the established direction to support investment programs.

Effectively manage and develop regional teams with the talent, skills and resources at hand to efficiently design, locate and commission infrastructure provision and improvements that underpin future curriculum delivery and respond to emergent issues as they arise.

Develop and implement project plans related to assigned projects and ensure objectives are implemented within established timelines, budgets and governance frameworks.

Critically analyse, review and refine systems and processes in line with continuous improvement practices to ensure consistent application and ongoing alignment with changing business or policy requirements.

Prepare submissions, briefs, reports and correspondence of a complex nature.
Requirements for Success
A qualification in Business, Project Management or Public Service management is highly regarded.

Experience in delivering infrastructure projects and programs in consultation with key stakeholders and delivery partners and be familiar with human resource management, stakeholder engagement and financial management.

Strong leadership capability to manage programs from the Infrastructure Investment Portfolio and Asset Life Cycle Assessments (ALCA), as well as the effective management of disaster management response and recovery efforts for schools and the regions.

A strategic thinker, with proven ability to deliver School Strategic Infrastructure Plans (SSIPs) to identify future infrastructure requirements to support curriculum delivery.

Honed stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to maintain and grow both internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, delivery partners and agencies to support regional operations priorities and minimise barriers.

An effective, confident communicator, who demonstrates interpersonal flexibility and continuous improvement mindset.
