**Your opportunity

As an
AOD Counsellor Case Manager , you'll engage and support your clients in their ongoing management, counselling and treatment of AOD dependency and other associated factors.

You'll advocate for them, celebrate with them when they achieve their goals, and help to develop their capacity and confidence to exit residential treatment.


  • Provide high quality engagement, assessment, counselling and support services to clients, and their families, using evidence based practice principles.
  • Manage a case load of clients, including in an outreach capacity, through providing support, service coordination, referral and advocacy to assist client in achieving their goals.
  • Provide intensive and ongoing support to people who are case managed on the Methamphetamine Enhanced Care Program.
  • Work with clients to develop, implement and review individual treatment goals.
  • Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating within the multidisciplinary team and across interfaces with other health care providers.
  • Provide pre
- and post-rehabilitation support and relapse prevention planning.

  • Engage with and develop productive relationships with relevant stakeholders. Provide culturally appropriate practice as relevant to varying clients.
This is a full-time (38 hours per week) permanent position. The gross annual pay rate is $93,860 to $98,108.40 plus super and salary packaging.

**What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services or other related area health services discipline.
  • Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based AOD counselling practice and case management or transferrable skills such as working with clients with comorbidity and complex trauma.
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and continue to develop your professional practice.
  • Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
  • Current Australian issued Drivers Licence.
  • A National Criminal History Check, along with a Working with Children Check (e.g., Blue Card).

While not essential, we'd also love you to have:

  • Local area knowledge of Brisbane South region Experience in delivering education programs and facilitation groups
