Primary Objective:

  • Provide specialist neurology care to patients at Royal Darwin Hospital, encompassing both inpatient and ambulatory services.
  • Deliver ambulatory care and neurology advice to regional hospitals and remote communities within the Top End of the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of neurological conditions.
  • Offer expert consultations and develop treatment plans for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Provide support and guidance to medical staff in regional hospitals and remote communities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in the teaching and training of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in neurology, with a strong background in both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse cultural environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.

The Requirements:

  • To apply you must hold or be eligible for Registration with AHPRA. Or be trained in New Zealand and willing to come to Australia for 12 months or more.

  • NZ FRACP or SMO director experience welcome
