Role Purpose

Aesop are seeking a meticulous and results-driven Data Support Specialist to join us for 12-months. Reporting to the Integrations Support Team Lead, you will provide a support and business-improvement service to users of several critical business applications used by Aesop.

Working closely with colleagues, the role primarily provides support to users of Aesop's data systems, the underlying Data Warehouse that feeds those systems, and associated interfaces, customisations, and reports. This role works closely with the Integrations Team to resolve any issues with integrations between the Data Warehouse and other systems.

In addition to supporting the operation of these systems there is a strong systems-improvement and documentation focus, with analysis of user needs and design and implementation of solutions key features of the role.

Some things you may find yourself doing

  • Provide first and second level support for Aesop's Data Warehouse and associated systems. Manage incidents, problems and changes through Aesop's ticketing system, including management of support calls escalated to others.
  • Monitor Data Warehouse error queues, and work with the Integrations Team to resolve any issues and errors that arise.
  • Perform ongoing data maintenance tasks to ensure reporting systems are up to date with current information.
  • Working with colleagues and third parties, develop and execute a proactive data warehouse housekeeping plan incorporating version currency, data hygiene, backup and recovery and database administration, including user management for database access.
  • Experience in managing ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) jobs
  • Assisting with Customer Deletions, Data Subject Access Requests, and Customer Discount allocations, as well as new store openings in the Data Warehouse.
  • Working with colleagues, monitor system operation, performance, and availability, and rectify any issues.
  • Provide first-level application support for Aesop's data reporting systems, including PowerBI, Azure, Storeforce, Kepler and our bespoke KPI reporting system, and implement a proactive upgrade plan to keep reporting systems current.

What we are looking for

  • Some experience in a similar data analysis & support role, specifically:
    • Experience with conducting deep-level issue analysis to identify the root cause and systematically resolve issues
    • Addressing issues promptly and responding positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience developing, building, and supporting a SQL data warehouse.
  • Experience with SQL scripting and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of data-reporting tools, with PowerBI experience preferred.
  • Experience working with GitHub, MuleSoft, and Sumo Logic preferred.
  • Experience managing cloud-based platforms, with Azure experience preferred.
  • Experience in fashion / apparel / luxury retail industries an advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of or experience in retail industry is highly regarded
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, user focused environment collaboratively or independently
