Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Site/Senior Agent to work in our Eastern Region Projects Team, with a particular focus in Suffolk. As a Site/Senior Agent, you will be part of Milestone Infrastructure's Projects Sector team who are responsible for the delivery of a variety of civil engineering projects with values varying from £1-15m.

Milestone Infrastructure (formally Skanska Infrastructure Services) have an extensive background of delivering civil engineering projects for local authority and private clients. Over time, we have seen the value, complexity and scope of these projects increase and become more diverse. You will be joining a project delivery team to deliver schemes with interfaces including Network Rail, Suffolk's Network Management team and many other key local and county wide stakeholders.

As the Site/Senior Agent your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Lead associated site team including Milestone supervision and subcontractors to successful completion of works
  • Produce and maintain the contract programme.
  • Be responsible for managing change on site in line with the NEC contract conditions.
  • Monitor site activities against target programmes reporting exceptions in outputs, delays etc.
  • Complete all activities with diligence and energy to maximise the time spent on site planning and supervising works
  • Ensure adequate records are maintained through site photographs, daily diaries and as built drawings
  • Carry out daily site briefings and supervise sub-contractor task briefings;
  • Monitor all works activities to ensure that they meet the Works Specification and are being delivered in a safe manner following the principles of our behavioural based safety initiative, It Starts With Me;
  • Attend client meetings to provide them with a delivery update and manage any adverse issues.
  • Formal communications to clients and subcontractors including but not limited to Early Warnings, and instructions.
  • Assist in the tendering of works including evaluation and selection of sub-contract packages;
  • Take ownership for safety and environmental compliance for your project and ensure all identified actions are closed out within their timescale

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • A good level of experience in civil engineering and workforce supervision including earthworks; drainage and structures in a highways environment;
  • A good level of commercial acumen to facilitate cost control;
  • Effective team management, leadership and influencing skills to get the best from everyone;
  • Excellent customer skills and the ability to work collaboratively in all situations;
  • The ability to drive excellent relationships with contacts at all levels including the client, colleagues and members of key stakeholders;
  • The ability to remain flexible in your approach to the role whilst embracing change and helping to manage the change process;
  • Experience of working on NEC3 contracts including the mechanisms for notifications.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision making
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise, whilst multi-tasking for many stakeholders, and still remaining focussed on what's most important
