About Role:


As our community is growing, as is our need to expand our team and we are looking for an energetic, positive and experienced Lead Horticulturalist to join our team.


What we are seeking:

  • Demonstrated practical field experience and qualifications (Certificate III or higher) Horticulture.
  • Current Class MR Drivers licence.
  • Construction Induction Certificate (NSW White Card)
  • Advanced knowledge of horticultural work and horticultural best practices.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing horticultural maintenance programs in relation to high profile/public domain.
  • Ability to assess and prepare reports on horticultural and city presentation maintenance programs.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in a wide range of horticultural maintenance services, including pest and disease control, minor landscape design, weed management, and plant nutrition.
  • High level awareness of Work, Health and Safety, environmental and risk identification aspects related to open space horticulture work.
  • Extensive experience in supervising a team responsible for the presentation of a city, large garden or estate.
  • Previous experience in and demonstrated ability to manage a work team, motivate staff, resolve conflict, and coordinate the work of others.
  • Proven interpersonal and customer service management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to enquiries from a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of city presentation issues.
  • Skills and experience in maintaining regional parklands or other landscapes with high visitation usage
  • Demonstrated experience in developing specifications and specialist advice regarding urban forest/parklands/horticultural assets.
  • Extensive experience in the use of horticultural equipment and plant.
