ABOUT THE JOB:

Key Duties:

  • Coordinate and liaise with key geospatial stakeholders.
  • Work with end users to identify Geographic Information System (GIS) requirements, technical issues and training needs.
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting for geospatial related matters and provide technical insight and recommendations regarding spatial data and spatial metadata standards.
  • Assist in daytoday operations of GIS functions, determining geospatial architecture priorities, developing guidance, providing geospatial assistance on project related activities and undertaking troubleshooting analysis and resolution for incidents and where new GIS capability is required.
  • Provide support and technical advice regarding geospatial analysis techniques, GIS analysis tools available, and the use of location data with geospatial toolsets available in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
  • Liaise with IT Operations, GIS Administrator and relevant stakeholders regarding appropriate scheduling for software upgrades.
  • Responsible for preparation of appropriate documentation such as design specifications, user guides and handover documentation.

THE SUCCESFUL CANDIDATE:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver Geospatial solutions and support through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices and processes.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and capacity to communicate and work effectively within a multidisciplined and blended team environment.
  • Relevant qualifications/certification/accreditation.
  • Experience and knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and associated technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to query and interpret data using efficient and effective SQL and provide sound advice on complex data/information related matters to deliver quality solutions.
