Our client, Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management (Bellarine Bayside) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Victorian Government to manage coastal Crown land reserves between Point Richards and St Leonards on Victoria's Northern Bellarine Peninsula, encompassing the townships of Portarlington, Indented Head and St Leonards.

Bellarine Bayside is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer.

The key purpose of the role to support the Committee of Management (Co M) to successfully deliver their strategic plan and to support and lead a team of professionals whilst ensuring the day-to-day operational needs and management of the organisation are met.

The CEO is supported by senior managers responsible for planning and environment, operations, finance and business management and holiday park management.

Reporting to the Committee of Management, the key responsibilities of this position include: Work collaboratively with the Committee of Management, providing high level strategic guidance and authoritative advice on issues, strategies, departmental directions, and amendments to legislation.

Lead and develop a team of skilled managers and staff whilst ensuring adequate capability in order to ensure delivery of the operational and strategic requirements of the organisation.

Adherence to all legislative requirements, compliance with all aspects of corporate governance and maintaining organisational systems, processes and policies which are effective and relevant considering the landscape the organisation operates within.

Resourcing and delivery of the priorities and goals set out in the Northern Bellarine Coastal and Marine Management Plan and leading the development of a new CMMP.

Ensure effective and sustainable financial management of Bellarine Bayside.

Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key external stakeholders including local community groups and organisations, State and Federal Government departments, Parks Victoria, and other relevant organisations.

Collaborating with First Nations people to develop and maintain effective and meaningful working relationships with the Bellarine Bayside team to progress the goals of First Nations people in relation to self-determination and management of country.

Ensuring Bellarine Bayside responds appropriately to the challenges presented by climate change and coastal inundation.

To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate: Success and experience in senior leadership role within a government or related framework, ideally with experience in land management responsibilities and delivering a range of services similar to those at Bellarine Bayside.

The ability to lead, manage and develop and a team of professionals across a range of diverse functions.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain, navigate relationships.
Demonstrated capacity to negotiate successful outcomes on complex stakeholder issues.

Ability to apply sound commercial acumen including growing business opportunities and revenue in the context of an organisation with limited government financial support.

Capability to collaboratively support First Nations people in furthering self-determination.

Strong negotiation, written and verbal and communication skills coupled with the ability to apply sound judgement and decision making at all times.

Capacity to successfully report to a Committee of Management and to be accountable to government authorities within a regulatory environment.

Attainment of tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.
