Our Federal government Agency seeks a
Geospatial Analyst (SFIA4 level) with extensive experience supporting day-to-day operations of GIS functions, geospatial architecture, developing guidance, assisting on projects & providing troubleshooting analysis/resolution for incidents & new GIS capability.


Key Accountabilities include:

  • Coordinate & liaise with key geospatial stakeholders.
  • Work with end users to identify Geographic Information System (GIS) requirements, technical issues & training needs.
  • Conduct geospatial related technical troubleshooting provide technical insight & recommendations regarding spatial data & spatial metadata standards.
  • Provide support & technical advice on geospatial analysis techniques, GIS analysis tools, & geospatial toolsets available in the EDW
  • Liaise with IT Operations, GIS Administrator & stakeholders on software upgrades.
  • Preparation of documentation design specifications, user guides & handover documentation.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver Geospatial solutions & support through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & Agile development practices & processes.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills & capacity to communicate & work effectively within a multidisciplined & blended team environment.
  • Relevant qualifications/certification/accreditation.
  • Experience & knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) & associated technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to query & interpret data using efficient & effective SQL & provide sound advice on complex data/informationrelated matters to deliver quality solutions.

Additional experience/skills:

  • Practical skills in developing data management design artifacts; developing mapping documents for builds in support of business processes & objectives.
  • Ability in development and/or directing the creation of efficient, maintainable & cost/effective databases.
  • Prepare and/or direct the creation & maintenance of data management documentation.
  • Experience in the following:
  • SQL for data analysis
  • Data modelling dimensional & ERD, & awareness of data vault
  • Various database platforms (i.e. Oracle, SQL Server)
  • XML schema design, ER Studio or similar

  • Metadata management, Data governance & quality
  • Inspires leadership

  • You must be an
    Australian Citizen & hold a
    Baseline security clearance:
  • The role is based in offices in ACT, or QLD plusHybrid work arrangements
  • 12 month contract with extensions
